The Ultimate Wasp Trap
In some areas of the country, it appears wasps in some number may be surviving the winter increasing the period of predation and at a time when our colonies are at their weakest.
How to recover your wasp infected colony - First thing or late in the day.
- Remove your predated colony to another hive or NUC.
a) Lift out the brood frames, Nurse Bees, stores and hopefully the Queen.
b) Move the colony close by to increase the chance that foragers will find their way home.
2. Close any entrances to the hive (preferably using UD Blanking Plugs!)
Drill a 25mm hole in the middle of the Super and fit the UD Intrance
Place an Inverted UD Bee Escape into the hole.
Wasps can enter the Hive, but THEY CANNOT LEAVE! With the forager wasps trapped, the nest will starve and eventually collapse.
The contents
